About the event

Join us as we explore this wonderful Requiem by Michael Haydn. The work premiered in 1772, and both Mozart, then a teenager, and his father played in the orchestra for at least three performances. It’s fascinating to see ideas and influences on Mozart’s own Requiem nearly two decades later.

City Chorus is a welcoming, non-auditioning choir - all singers are invited. Please register your place so we can send music links for you to read through and listen to in advance. We hope you’ll love this music!

Scores will be provided and the day will be led by conductor Paul Ayres, accompanied by Philip Shannon on piano. £25 for non members, refundable from your subscription should you join the choir. We will be performing Michael Haydn’s Requiem and Vivaldi’s Gloria with orchestra at our spring concert at St Andrew’s on Friday 28 March 2025
